Aurelia aurita complex sp. Pacific represents a cryptic species within the Aurelia aurita species complex distributed in Pacific coastal waters, morphologically indistinguishable from Atlantic A. Like other Aurelia species, it exhibits a metagenic life cycle with both benthic polyp and pelagic medusa stages, frequently forming dense blooms in enclosed bays and estuaries with ecological and economic impacts on coastal ecosystems. Genomic data have been generated for this species and are available in public databases, enabling comparative studies of cnidarian evolution and ecology.
