
Acropora tenuis is a branching scleractinian coral widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific, forming slender, upright colonies with elongated axial corallites. It is one of the most commonly used species in experimental bleaching studies and thermal tolerance crossing experiments. The species maintains obligate Symbiodiniaceae photosymbiosis and reproduces by mass broadcast spawning synchronized with other Acropora congeners on the Great Barrier Reef.
