
Acropora yongei is a slender-branched coral (family Acroporidae) found primarily in shallow reef environments in the Indo-Pacific, with colonies displaying a corymbose growth habit with thin, elongated branches and relatively small radial corallites. Like other acroporids, the species relies on Symbiodiniaceae photosymbiosis for energy and is highly sensitive to sea surface temperature anomalies. It is considered Vulnerable by the IUCN.
