Alvinactis sp. YZ-2022 is an undescribed deep-sea sea anemone (family Actiniidae) collected from hydrothermal vent or cold seep environments in the western Pacific, assigned a provisional collection identifier from a 2022 deep-sea survey. Like other Alvinactis species, it is adapted to the chemosynthetic ecosystem conditions of vent habitats and relies on capturing vent-associated fauna rather than photosymbiosis for nutrition. Its genomic characterization provides comparative data for understanding molecular adaptations to hydrothermal vent environments.
