Blastomussa wellsi is a large-polyped scleractinian coral (family Lobophylliidae) distributed across the Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea to the central Pacific, forming low-growing phaceloid or plocoid structures with large, fleshy polyps in colorful shades of green, red, and brown. The species is popular in the marine aquarium trade and can host diverse Symbiodiniaceae genotypes. It is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN but faces threats from bleaching and collection pressure.
