Ceratomyxa sp. 58-BR2022 is an undescribed myxozoan parasite (family Ceratomyxidae) recovered from marine fish in Brazil, assigned a provisional barcode identifier, and closely related to or potentially conspecific with Ceratomyxa sp. Like other Ceratomyxa, it is an obligate intracellular parasite of marine fish infecting bile ducts or gallbladder epithelial cells and producing diagnostic ellipsoidal spores with polar capsules homologous to cnidarian nematocysts. Genomic data have been generated for this species and are available in public databases, enabling comparative studies of cnidarian evolution and ecology.
