Ceratonova shasta (formerly Ceratomyxa shasta) is a freshwater myxozoan parasite (family Ceratomyxidae) notorious as a significant pathogen of salmonid fish in the Pacific Northwest of North America, infecting the intestinal epithelium and causing severe ceratonova disease with high mortality in juvenile fish. The parasite requires a polychaete worm (Manayunkia occidentalis) as an alternate host to complete its life cycle in rivers such as the Klamath and Trinity Rivers. It is a fish pathogen of major concern to salmon conservation and hatchery management.
