Churabana kuroshioae is a recently described zoantharian anthozoan (order Zoantharia) from the tropical Indo-Pacific, named with reference to the Kuroshio Current region where it was collected. It forms encrusting colonial or semi-colonial polyp aggregations on reef substrates and is known for producing palytoxin and related zoanthamine alkaloids among the most potent marine natural products. The species contributes to understanding the biogeography and diversification of tropical Indo-Pacific zoantharian faunas. Genomic data have been generated for this species and are available in public databases, enabling comparative studies of cnidarian evolution and ecology.
