Dendrophyllia cribrosa is an azooxanthellate colonial scleractinian coral (family Dendrophylliidae) distributed in the Indo-Pacific, feeding heterotrophically on plankton and enabling it to thrive in shaded, deeper habitats without photosymbiosis. Its phaceloid colonies consist of elongated corallites bearing large orange or yellow polyps that expand conspicuously at night. It is an important component of deep-reef and cave ecosystems.
