Diadumene lineata, the orange-striped anemone (family Diadumenidae), is native to Japan but introduced globally through shipping and aquaculture activities, becoming one of the most successful marine invasive invertebrates established in harbors and estuaries across temperate Europe, North America, and Australia. The species reproduces primarily through pedal laceration—leaving behind fragments of the pedal disc that regenerate into new individuals—enabling extremely rapid population expansion on bare substrates.
