Ellipsomyxa sp. 115-BR2022 is a myxozoan parasite (family Ceratomyxidae) assigned a provisional designation from a Brazilian survey of marine fish parasites, typically infecting the gallbladder of marine teleost fish and producing diagnostic spores with polar capsules that inject polar filaments into host tissues. Like other myxozoans, these organisms have highly reduced body plans resulting from extreme parasitic reduction but retain cnidarian-type features at the genomic level.
