Eunicea knighti is a gorgonian coral (family Plexauridae) found on shallow Caribbean reef crests and upper slopes, forming dense branching colonies as a significant contributor to Caribbean gorgonian reef communities and providing habitat for diverse associated invertebrates. Like other Eunicea species, it produces bioactive terpenoids that have attracted pharmaceutical interest, particularly for anti-inflammatory and antitumor properties. Genomic data have been generated for this species and are available in public databases, enabling comparative studies of cnidarian evolution and ecology.
