Myxobolus honghuensis is a freshwater myxozoan parasite (family Myxobolidae) infecting cyprinid fish in China, causing significant disease in carp aquaculture by forming myxospores with characteristic polar capsules in muscle or connective tissue, leading to lesions and reduced fish quality. Like other Myxobolus species, it requires an alternate oligochaete worm host to complete its life cycle in freshwater systems.
