Montipora sp. Colony 1 RG-2022 is an undescribed or provisionally designated Montipora coral (family Acroporidae) assigned a laboratory collection identifier from reef environments sampled in 2022. Like other Montipora, it forms encrusting or foliose colonies on Indo-Pacific reefs with small corallites and Symbiodiniaceae photosymbionts. Provisional specimen designations are common in large-scale coral genomics projects where morphological identification is pending formal taxonomic revision.
