About Porites harrisoni

Porites harrisoni is a massive scleractinian coral (family Poritidae) distributed in shallow reef environments of the Indo-Pacific, forming dome-shaped or encrusting colonies with the small, dense corallites typical of the genus. Like other massive Porites species, it plays an important role in reef accretion and carbonate production and is valued as a source of paleoclimatic information from growth band analyses.
