Phacellophora camtschatica, the fried egg jellyfish (family Phacellophoridae), is a large scyphozoan medusa with a distinctive pale yellow and white coloration resembling a fried egg, distributed in cool temperate and subarctic waters of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Its bell can reach over 60 cm in diameter, and it trails long, fine tentacles up to several meters. Despite its impressive size, it has a weak sting and preys primarily on other jellyfish including Aurelia species, making it an unusual jellyfish predator.
