Phymanthus loligo is a sea anemone (family Phymanthidae) found in shallow tropical reef and rocky habitats of the Indo-Pacific, with characteristic branched tentacle tips similar to its Atlantic congener P. It inhabits sandy and rubble substrates in reef environments and may host commensal shrimps and other small invertebrates. Its genomic data enable comparative studies of tentacle morphology evolution and the biogeography of this distinctive actiniarian family.
