Pseudorhiza aurosa is a rhizostome scyphozoan jellyfish (family Cepheidae) found in coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific, particularly in Australian and Indonesian seas. Like other rhizostomes, it lacks marginal tentacles and captures prey through the numerous mouth openings on its highly branched oral arms, which also harbor Symbiodiniaceae photosymbionts. The species is part of the diverse and ecologically important community of bloom-forming jellyfish in Indo-Pacific coastal waters. Genomic data have been generated for this species and are available in public databases, enabling comparative studies of cnidarian evolution and ecology.
