Scolanthus callimorphus is a tube-dwelling sea anemone (family Edwardsiidae) found in soft sediments of temperate coastal waters in the northeastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, lacking a pedal disc and instead living in a mucous tube anchored in sandy or muddy substrates with only the oral disc exposed for feeding. Like other edwardsiids, it occupies a basal phylogenetic position within Actiniaria and is important for reconstructing the ancestral body plan of sea anemones.
